If one of your New Year resolutions this year was to stretch those green fingers and try something new, then we have the perfect idea. For the first time, a new range of hardy miniature orchids is available to buy.

Hardy Miniature Orchids hail from Japan, where they are known as Butterfly Wings, thanks to their dainty blooms that are just three quarters of an inch in size and float on stems that are eight to ten inches tall.
During late spring and early summer they put on spectacular shows of graceful flowers with the scent of vanilla.

They’re also remarkably hardy, withstanding temperatures as 0C- or even lower if it’s a dry winter. Growing from naturally small tubers, the plants are perfect at the front of boarders or patio boxes, or why not even try them in window boxes for a lovely unusual display.

Tubers will be delivered from February 2009.
